Signposts to "Notice & Note" for Deeper Comprehension

Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst present six signposts for deeper comprehension in their recent text, Notice & Note:  Strategies for Close Reading.  After spending a couple of years combing a wealth of fictional text, Beers and Probst discovered six common threads called signposts that help the reader "notice and note" key ideas, events, and thinking about a fictional text:  Contrasts and Contradictions, Aha Moment, Tough Questions, Words of the Wiser, Again and Again, and Memory Moment. Since the text was written for a middle school application, I have taken the six signposts and created anchor charts that tailor the language for use in the elementary setting.  Some questions worth pondering:  Do these signposts exist in social studies, history, or science?  How powerful would it be to notice the "Again and Again" signposts in history?  Why does this event keep happening "again and again"?
